DEVON, Pa. – December 4, 2018 –The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair has completed its five-year, $2 million pledge to Bryn Mawr Hospital. Senior Co-Chair Lisa Estabrook and Co-Chair Darlene DiGorio, along with both members of the horse show and foundation boards will present the final installment to Bryn Mawr Hospital President Andi Gilbert and members of the hospital community during a reception at the hospital on Friday, December 7 at 6:00 pm. The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair’s contributions support the Intensive Care Unit, as part of For Every Generation, a community-based $30 million capital campaign connected to Bryn Mawr Hospital’s milestone modernization project.
“We are extremely proud to partner with the Main Line’s premiere hospital,” said Estabrook, “and I am honored to represent the thousands of volunteers who make it possible for us to support Bryn Mawr’s over 100-year-old legacy of providing unparalleled access to quality care in the community.”
To date, the event has contributed over $15 million to fund innovations at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
“To be a top six hospital in the area and top 12 throughout the State, you need contemporary facilities and advanced technology,” said Andi Gilbert, President, Bryn Mawr Hospital. “Organizations like the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair help make that possible; we can’t thank their staff and volunteers enough for their generous contributions each year.”
With an attendance of approximately 125,000, the event continues to have a positive economic impact in Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships, as well as in neighboring communities. “One of the great outcomes each year is the event attracts out-of-town visitors and regional residents who support local businesses including hotels, restaurants and retail establishments,” said Devon Horse Show and Country Fair Chairman Wayne W. Grafton, “in addition to supporting the local economy through property taxes, municipal services, and local vendors,” he concluded.
