Junior 3’3″ Hunter Champions Crowned at Devon
Devon, Pennsylvania – May 23, 2024 – Small and Large Junior 3’3” Hunters took to the Wheeler Ring on the second day of division competition at the 2024 Devon Horse Show and Country Fair to claim their Champion and Reserve Champion titles, with one talented horse-and-rider combination winning the ultimate honors of Devon Grand Junior Hunter 3’3″ Champion.
It was ultimately Colorado native, Violet Rheingold who earned the title of Devon Grand Junior Hunter 3’3″ Champion with her own Warmblood gelding, SWS High Light.
“I am still in shock. This is outside of my dreams,” stated Rheingold. Having never won a Championship title at Devon and at only her second appearance at the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair she noted, “I wasn’t really expecting this.”
The pair, who have been partnered together for two years, earned their first Championship Ribbon at Devon earlier in the day in the Small Junior 3’3” Hunter division.
On Wednesday, Rheingold and SWS High Light claimed first-place honors in the $3,000 Small Junior Handy Hunter. The duo, who traveled all the way from Boulder, Colorado to compete at The Devon Horse Show, closed out competition with a second-place finish in the $4,000 Small Junior Hunter Stake to ultimately claim two Championship honors.
In the Large Junior 3’3” Hunter Division it was the Warmblood gelding, Chaperone and owner/rider, Alexandra Rowe who claimed Championship honors, while Lily Sonneborn and Andesite Equestrian’s Brandenburg gelding, Spoken took the Reserve Championship title.
